To the North – The town of Sneads Ferry offers golf, shopping and restaurants. Jacksonville is home to Camp Lejeune, Stone Bay Rifle Range and New River Station. There is a movie theater, plenty of shopping such as Wal-Mart, the Jacksonville Mall, plenty of eateries, plus dance clubs and historic attractions.

To the South -- Hampstead features golf and restaurants and is home to the famous annual Spot Festival. Wilmington, just a half-hour south of Topsail, features a historic downtown area that is quaint and simple to navigate. The river walk, with its view of the Battleship North Carolina moored on the western shore, is a great place to stroll, grab a hot dog from a street vendor, listen to free music and enjoy the river activity. Downtown comes alive at night with dance clubs, jazz bars, venues for rock, rhythm and blues and more. Mayfaire Town Center, located north of Wilmington, features movie theaters, excellent shopping and restaurants, plus summer music festivals.
